Amanda Klatt

Amanda Klatt (Resource Coordinator)

Amanda started coming to PFLAG in 2012. At that time she was quiet, in need of education and support. It seems to have been a good fit as she is now giving back to the organization. For the past year, she can be seen welcoming others to the meetings and facilitating various groups. She can also be seen behind the table at events for PFLAG and holding the banner proudly at rallies. While working for the State of CT and helping support PFLAG, she also finds time to help raise her two teenage sons. Other times, you may also catch her searching for antiquities, playing cards with her friends, or quietly making her own jewelry.

Mark Pixley

Mark Pixley (Treasurer)

Mark has been serving as PFLAG Hartford treasurer since 2015. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Kent State University, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron.

Mark lives in West Hartford with his wife, and has two teen-aged children who are quickly making their way into the world. While it's exciting to see our world becoming a better place for all of us to be our authentic selves, there's still a long road ahead and Mark is proud to be a part of PFLAG's mission to make that road wider and safer through outreach, education, and by bringing people together at all stages of their journey to support each other along the way.

Courtney Pollack (Technology Chair)

Courtney Pollack is a Systems Integrator at ESPN. She was the first employee to transition on the job at ESPN back in 2004. Since then, Courtney has been heavily involved with ESPN's employee resource group, ESPN EQUAL. She has served as the first President when it began in 2008, then as Communications Chair, and currently, Co-chair. ESPN EQUAL promotes Diversity and Inclusion for all LGBTQA employees, working closely with ESPN's parent company, The Walt Disney Company. Courtney is the parent of 2 college students, one who identifies as a lesbian. Courtney can be found playing softball in 2 women's leagues during the Spring, Summer and Fall months, and spending lots of time with her French Bulldog, Bailey!

May Tuscano

May Tuscano (Facilitation Chair)

May A.M.R Tuscano, LMFT, started her career as an activist in both LGBTQIA+ and sexual violence prevention communities. Since then, she has become a family therapist, an advocate, and an educator. At her private practice in Wethersfield, CT she helps individuals and families grow and find strength in gender transitions. As a part of her service to the transgender community, May educates organizations such as schools, medical clinics, mental health facilities, and government agencies.

In her role as Facilitation Coordinator, May ensures that PFLAG support groups provide the highest possible level of care. May is also responsible for ensuring that our support groups are open and accessible to all participants, not just privileged participants.

May is a hybrid gaymer and femmeberjack: loving both the outdoors and staying in to tinker with computers and cars. She is, generally speaking, a huge nerd.

Kristin Tingey (News Chair)

Kristin Tingey and her husband have two amazing teenagers, one of whom is non-binary.  They also have two loving foster children.  Their family is incredibly grateful to PFLAG for helping them learn about the LGBTQ+ community.  Kristin and her child, Lane, joined the Board in 2019 to help PFLAG provide support, education and advocacy.  Kristin also has had a wonderful career as a School Psychologist for the last 20 years.
